Egypt interviewed Teyana Taylor recently and got to the bottom of those promiscuity rumors, her crush, and finally answers the question of what Teyana does to be a “celebrity.”  Here’s a snippet:

You’re a twitter maniac lady, over the past 3 months we’ve seen pictures posted on twitter by either you, Chris Brown, or Soulja Boy. These pics of course prompted rumors that maybe you were dating both of them, first Chris and then Soulja. Was there any truth to the rumors?

Yeah I know. I mean No…no. Chris is my brother. I’ve always said that. People say a lot of things about me and I’m like I’m only 18. Really??? Is it that serious? People have said I was gay and all type of stuff.

Hmm I didn’t hear that one…

Yeah some bloggers, well not really bloggers, but the commenters have said that about me. How can I be gay if I’m still a virgin? .

Wait Wait Wait…your still a virgin?? I’m really happy to hear that.

Yes. The one thing people can never say is that I’m a hoe. I have a purity ring. The only time you get in trouble is if you attempt to do something. If your laying up on a boy then something is going to happen. So I just keep my legs closed until I am ready for that. I can’t have a boyfriend because the only thing they want to do is have sex. I don’t want no fingers up there, no penis, nothing!!! Uh uh (shaking her head no).

You know many young girls think that virginity is lame and promiscuity is cool. They succumb to peer pressure and then find themselves in grown folks situations that they aren’t equipped to handle. So I’m pleasantly surprised to hear that you have your head on straight.

Egypt I even try to teach these girls. I hold bible study class at St. Lukes church in Harlem when I’m home. I actually teach the class because I want them to know its okay to praise God and keep your legs closed. I’m just trying to be a good example right now. It’s funny because when I had my 18th birthday I wore this Herve Lager dress and peeps were like Whoaaaaa Teyana. I guess that’s because I always try to dress my age, I just started wearing dresses so they were shocked. But that night I had to make people know that if I want to get on my girlie stuff then I will do that. These female artists need to know that if and when I’m ready to bust out and throw it on….Be afraid…..be very afraid!! (laughs) But I want to be a good example. I’m a lady and I think people respect that.

You told me you’re a virgin, but certainly you have a crush on someone. Every teenage girl has a crush…Who is it?

I had a crush on Chris Paul (NBA) but I hit up La La (Alani Vasquez) and she gave me all the basketball scoop. She said he has a girl and lives with her in New Orleans. My crush was over in 2.5 seconds flat because I don’t want noooooo drama. He’s a nice guy and he’s just my friend now. Shia lebouf is my baby daddy though!

Recently, a certain radio personality put you on blast by asking “What exactly does Teyana Taylor do?”, as if to question your relevance. A few other websites have mistakenly called you a rapper. Do you want to respond?

Yeh I know who your talking about and when it happened I was like Wow!! That’s just so fake because he was just smiling in my face before that….but nevermind that. Here’s the deal. I have a Lipgloss line coming out called “Dope lips.” We are still developing it but I’m excited because we have ‘Salute The Nude’ under the lipgloss line for all the girls who like nude colors. I’m a Songwriter too, I’m about to write for Blackstreet and Usher. I wrote a Timbaland track for Usher, Teddy Riley heard it and said “That’s crazy!! If Usher don’t want it then bring it here.” So now I’m about to write for their album. I’m writing stuff with Chris Brown, Omarion, oh and I’m about to start getting in with Brandy too. So I am really heavy into songwriting.

I have my own publishing company called “I Am McLovin Publishing”. I am also hosting the Jamaican Awards (YVA) in Kingston in February because the kids in Jamaica love me. I didn’t even realize I had so many Jamaican Fans. I’m in the newest Source magazine with Yung Money on the cover and I’m about to do the covers of Persona and Bleu Magazines. I’m a model too! I modeled for Zac Posen and Deisel during “Fashion Week” in Miami. And I did a campaign for “Married to the Mob.”

That’s right Teyana. Dare to be different. Everyone is smoking, drinking, having sex & kids. Do something that no one else is doing. Be your own leader, and not a follower. A high school in Chicago has 115 girls pregnant at the school! We need bring prayer back in school, real talk. Don’t be another statistic.

So Omarion spoke to the folks over at Boombox about the devilish controversy going on in the industry right now.  If you recall, singer Tiffany Evans put Rihanna on blast about joining in the dark and devil worshiping behavior (after hearing Rihana’s new song “Russian Roulette”) that is well known to happen in the industry.  Now Omarion is chiming in about how real that dark side and celebrity involvement:

“I don’t personally know Rihanna’s beliefs but I think there’s a very dark and very sinister part of the entertainment business and I think it’s very visible,” he said. “This is something that a lot of people don’t look at [but for example] Michael Jackson used to be a Jehovah’s Witness and I remember hearing that he wanted to separate from the religion — and this was during the time that he was doing ‘Thriller’ [which ended up being] his biggest album.”

“Fast forward to now,” Omarion continued, “[and] it really made me think that there is a [time as an artist] where there’s going to be a choice. The[entertainment] world [dictates] that you have to be with three or four women, or do this in order to get that [and] I think it’s really interesting. With God and the industry, it’s really dark. The dark side is having to get in, there’s a certain submission you need to have. Just like a gang [initiation], so to speak. You might have to do something against your moral code. I’m not saying that it’s always this way, but when you’re someone that is young and you’re coming up in the industry and you really don’t have a grip on your morals it can be very dark. The game is just about over saturation.

“I don’t know if Rihanna [has fallen victim to those pressures]. I’ve never really heard her speak about it,” he said. “I hope that she doesn’t believe in that stuff and I don’t think that she does, but I don’t know. It’s not just been a Rihanna thing, [there's has been religious speculation] about a lot of artists.”

Hmmm… interesting. All I will say is that I believe that there is a Heaven and a Hell. The Bible talks about all of these types of things, so it would not surprise me.

Chris Brown spent yesterday afternoon decorating pumpkins with Best Buddies participants in NYC. It is a program that works with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This is a good luck. Keep up the positivity Chris.

T-Pain is on some other stuff. He showed up at the Michael Jackson’s: This Is It premiere in Sydney, Australia with a very interesting t-shirt on. Why would he wear that to the MJ premiere? I know he had something better than that. You remember the world famous (naked) photos of Cassie? Well, T-Pain decides to expose her once again. I don’t know about Cassie, but I would totally embarrassed all over again. I wonder if he considered how she felt when putting that shirt on. Even though Cassie wanted people to get over the pictures, and she acted as though she wasn’t bothered.. how could she not be bothered? Maybe it’s just me.

This is really classy of you T-Pain. Supposedly there’s a clothing line selling these shirts..

2009 and 2010 is the year of the reality television shows. Keyshia Cole’s sister Elite, and Neffe’s hair stylist Dariel are in the process of shooting their own reality show. Yes you heard me correctly. According to Dariel the show is to portray their grind and hustle to make it in this cut throat industry. It will also show that Keyshia does NOT take care of them. Dariel also says that the show will be speaking on issues of how money was stolen from his former management. But the main focus of the show is to show the world his struggle as a hair stylist that is trying to build his brand and clientele. It will also show how Elite is in the studio making her own album, and her search for her dad. According to Dariel this is going to be REAL and RAW, and nothing will be held back. Seems like it will be interesting, we shall see.

These past few months have been challenging for former Xcape member turned reality TV star Kandi Burruss, but she’s proving her perseverance with her “I Fly Above” EP available for download today (October 29th). Many were surprised that the star has not shied away from the spotlight following the untimely death of her ex-fiancée Ashley “AJ” Jewell, but she is clearly showing her strength and dedication to her craft, which is admirable. This sneak peak provides a lucid precursor to what we can expect from her upcoming full-length effort, B.L.O.G.

The title track “I Fly Above,” produced by Drumma Boy gives way to a straightforward crack at addressing her haters. “Trade Him In,” featuring current hot rapper Gucci Mane (whose rap delivery is pure comedy by the way) provides a pinch of cockiness to the relationship based songs that goes against the grain of Kandi’s somewhat mild-mannered persona. “Must Be Good,” is undoubtedly the most contagious track on the EP and by far the most relevant and personal as she wrote it about the Internet fodder surrounding her relationship with AJ. Lastly the indecisive “I Like Him” feat. Rick Ross and Rasheeda and the syrupy “I Just Know,” round out the EP. I wish Kandi all the best in her endeavors, because she has been through a lot and she’s so sweet.

Singer/rapper/socialite Teyana Taylor released some photos of her modeling her new Lip Gloss line, “Dope Lips” early Thursday morning via twitter.

No word on the actual line because the about me page on the official website isn’t even up, but word is she will drop flavors in 2010 and you can even take a peek of some of them on the site. She looks gorgeous. Get it Teyana.

New York’s Power 105fm held their annual Powerhouse concert last night in New Jersey headlined by singer Chris Brown.  Day 26 opened the show followed by Mario who brought out Maino, Jim Jones and DJ Webster.  Keri Hilson performed a few hits including “Slow Dance” and came back out during  Fabolous’s set to perform “Everything, Everyday, Everywhere” with Ryan Leslie.  After Fab, came Trey Songz who brought Fab back out for “Say Ahh”, and performed other songs including “LOL Smiley Face”, “Neighbors Say My Name”, “Panty Droppers” and “I Invented Sex”.  I hear some thongs were spotted on stage…

Heard that the crowd definitely wasn’t feeling The Dream.  He came out and began his set throwing a few shots “Alot of people on stage talking sh*t cause they ain’t got no hits”.  Of course, Chris Brown was the finale beginning his set to “I Can Transform Ya” followed by hits like “Take You Down”, “No Air”, “Forever”, “Wall to Wall” and a song with Juelz Santana “Back to The Crib”.  Before he closed his set he promised his fans “Despite my past, I’m gonna change for all of y’all and be a better man.” Power 105 gave him a second chance and he didn’t disappoint, however will other stations follow suit?
